How To Claim
Prizes of more than $601 must be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City or at one of the Lottery’s regional offices in St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield.
Subscriptions
Missouri Lottery does not offer a subscription service.
Beneficiary Information
Missouri Lottery proceeds solely benefit Missouri public education.
Retailer Bonus Structure
Missouri Lottery retailers earn 5 cents for every $1 in products they sell. Retailers receive a $50,000 bonus for selling a winning Mega Millions ticket and $1,000 for selling a winning ticket that matches all five white balls.
Tax Information
The Missouri Lottery withholds 4% state taxes on prizes of more than $600 and an additional 25% federal tax for prizes more than $5,000.

- Since its beginning in 1986, the Missouri Lottery has provided more than $4.2 BILLION to Missouri and public education and more than $8.6 BILLION to players.
- Missouri’s top jackpot winner is Chris Shaw of Marshall. On April 21, 2010, he won a $258.5 million Powerball jackpot.
- The largest group of people to ever share a Missouri jackpot consisted of 44 co-workers at Independence Power & Light. They split a $10 million Powerball jackpot in May of 1998.
