Powerball Winners

The story of power ball winners Matthew Good and Mark and Cindy Hill is a fascinating subject. In this article we will see stories of winners and their Families & how winning changes their lives.

Is it not every Powerball Winners dream is to have their name announced as the winner? That is what happened with this recent winner, 'Ariz. Powerball Jackpot Winner’s Name Released'

Matthew Good of Phoenix, Arizona was just announced as the most recent winner of the Powerball Jackpot. Good is a married man in his 30's and had moved here from Pennsylvania with his family.

Good had wanted to remain anonymous but lottery winners in Arizona are a matter of public record. The Associated Press pursued after the winner by filing a public record request and found out Good as the other winner of the Powerball Jackpot on Monday a report said online.

Good took his winnings as a one time payment of $192 million. The drawing had been held November 28th. Good had told the lottery officials since the Fiscal cliff looms ahead he decided to take his money now instead of in payments, he had 180 days to claim his prize.

Lottery Officials did not release what Good does for a living but he was described as a professional and would not be quitting his job anytime soon.

Good previously issued a statement that said: “It is difficult to express just how thankful we are for this wonderful gift. We are extremely grateful and feel fortunate to now have an increased ability to support our charities and causes. Obviously, this has been incredibly overwhelming and we have always cherished our privacy.”

When Good and his wife learned of there winnings they hired a team of professional advisers and this is how they decided to claim their share this month to avoid the looming higher tax hazards of next year.

It was stated by the lottery officials that half of the winnings belong to his wife because Arizona is a community property state.

A mechanic and his wife, Mark and Cindy Hill, of Dearborn, Mo., claimed their half of the multi-state Powerball prize earlier In March three ticket buyers of the Mega Millions drawing won a total of a $656 million jackpot, split three ways. This set off a buying fury across the nation leading to the latest drawing winners described above with the Jackpot rolling over a total of 16 times before being won by Good and Hill.

Mark and Cindy Hill, small town folk have been brought into the spotlight by winning a share of the record Mega Millions $578.5 million jackpot last month. The town of Dearborn, MO. is now becoming well known for having residents who won the Jackpot. The town of about 500 people is abuzz with word getting out of the Hills Jackpot winnings.

They had purchased their winning ticket at a local Trex Mart gas station and convenience store. The Hills, well liked and respected in the small rural area may be teased by the locals for sometime in a good natured way said a local resident and next door neighbor Louis Buntin. Says Buntin, this will be a topic of discussion for some time to come I am sure.

The Hills will be splitting their winnings with the Goods described earlier. They also are taking a lump sum payment of which lottery officials say is worth about $136.5 million after taxes.

The neighbors in speaking of the local town say that the Hills winning the lottery is the biggest thing to happen here in years. We may have had Jesse James and his gang here once but that was in the 1900's. Life for the Hills will go on the same as they will still go to the local diner and shop local just as they always have they said, we just have more money now due to being Powerball Winners.
